Pondering and parsing the coverage of today’s news, one glaring inconsistency emerges.

The liberal media narrative seems to be that this is the beginning of the end for Trump, because Mueller has Papadopoulos on the hook, and Papadopoulos has spent the last month acting as an undercover agent, possibly even wearing a wire.

Let’s say for a moment that this were true, and his cooperation is resulting in the acquisition of incriminating information against others.  Why would Mueller announce this, without simultaneously bringing charges against the other parties incriminated by his cooperation?

I am not a lawyer, nor a seasoned prosecutor, but legal strategy is not lost on me, and this seems to defy logic.  If the cooperation is bearing fruit, the last thing Mueller would do is out his own informant in the middle of a developing investigation.  If on the other hand, his cooperation had already borne all the fruit needed, then he would have dropped the hammer on the next “fish” in the chain, to avoid flight, destruction of evidence, etc…

Instead today we see unrelated charges brought against Manafort and Gates, with this arbitrary announcement that they have Papadopoulos on the hook for a technicality, and that he has been cooperating with the investigation for the last month.

The only conclusion I can draw from this is that they were unable to obtain anything useful from his cooperation, and the only reasoning behind the release of this information today seems to be politically motivated, or hollow intimidation.

Things to make you go hrmmmm…..
